Stand up to Manipulators

A person with successful boundaries has to stand up to manipulators. Manipulators are often charming people, but their intent is to produce enough guilt with their accusations and threats that we back off. They say things like, "If you loved me you wouldn't do that", "That's not very Christian", "You are really selfish". What are some of the things manipulators have said to you to get you to back off?

 

You have come into my life through a door I was afraid would never be opened again, for many have slammed it on their way out. So please feel free to stay as long as you’d like. But should the time come that you must leave - please, close the door gently as you go.


Actually, I’m a little scared to get close to anyone because everyone that said “I’ll be there”… left.

Passionate Relationships

Passionate relationships make love sizzle. They cause you to levitate above your problems. Impassioned relationships make our brains cook. Or, should I say, our brains stimulate us more when we are in love or impassioned? We have a bounce in our step. Life seems glorious. Our problems don't matter so much.
Impassioned relationships work very well for both partners, although there can still be conflict and problems. It seems so much easier to solve problems in a relationship that clicks, than in a dead‑beat one. Everyone wants more of the glorious stuff. It is like the fuel of desire. It makes us look forward to every moment and gives us the gusto to embrace life fully.
